In mathematics, the empty set is the unique set having no elements
Hello.
Most people I know know me as 'Baz'. “You can call me Susan, if you like.” That's from Snatch (2000). Those who were either paying a great deal of attention, or have simply seen it numerous times, would know that the line Vinnie Jones actually says is “you can call me Susan, if it makes you happy.” There's going to be allot of that here.
What, then, is here, exactly? Without any defining element, I suppose I couldn’t be mad at anyone who might be so inclined as to label this place something of a hybrid between an 'arts & culture appreciation and review' blog, an 'online book club', 'an empty telephone booth with a broken receiver and a piss-stained address book', and/or a communal digital 'notebook'. Either way, THE EMPTY SET, is ultimately a textual analysis platform. 'Text' here is broadly understood to be anything that we or guest contributors should so happen to choose to discuss – this can take various shapes: long form essay entries about various topics, interviews, and transcripts for Jour Mal, our podcast series presented in association with Phasmid Press, for example.
Currently, our wish is to see posts once a month (save this). We will also try and maintain an editorial section, in which we discuss whatever it is we may be thinking about at the time. While guests will be given total autonomy in selecting their particular texts and/or interview topics, in order to ensure that a 'yeah, it's dope – the end' situation does not emerge, we will ask our guests several questions about their selected texts/topics.

Well. I think that's it for the time being. I hope you enjoy what's to come.
